The Wizard of Oz has unsurprisingly proved to be one of Williams Interactive’s biggest hit franchises over the years. When the original was unleashed, players loved the fact that the game really captured the spirit of the movies. However, there is literally so much on the yellow brick road that it was impossible to cram in all of the potential symbols and features on just one game, so it is equally unsurprising that the developer opted to revisit the theme twice, with the addition of Ruby Slippers and Wicked Riches to the line-up. For starters, WMS has kept things relatively simple for all players by using the standard five reel layout and throwing in thirty win lines. Fans of the original will feel right at home with the symbols, which comprise of all of the familiar characters like Dorothy, Toto, Scarecrow and more. Like the original game, there is a chance of a bonus every time the reels spin, although rather than the nice witch making her way across the reels, players are on the lookout for the ruby slippers. When they appear on a spin, between one and four reels will turn completely wild and the resulting wins stand to be multiplied by up to four times their original value.

That’s just the start of the bonus action, as Wizard of Oz – Ruby Slippers also crams in three different bonus rounds. The first is the Find the Broom round, triggered when two bonus symbols and a wicked witch land in view. It’s a simple prize bonus, where you can grab up to fifty times your total stake. It’s joined by the Crystal Ball round which is activated in a similar manner, but with the ball symbol taking the place of the witch. This one’s rarer but even bigger, with five hundred times the stake a possibility. Last but by no means least is the Emerald City round with free spins. A modest five spins are awarded initially, but you can scoop more spins, wild reels and multipliers for one of the most diverse bonus games out there.
