      Baywatch Slot Review

The beach scenes of Baywatch are well known by a lot of people, even if they weren’t born when the first episode of the popular series aired. Since its debut in 1989, the show has amassed a wide following thanks to it constantly showing skimpily clad men and women running across sandy beaches. And of course, out of all those recognised from the show, Pamela Anderson and David Hasselhoff are the most well known of them all.

Taking into account how… alluring… Anderson’s assets can be, it’s no wonder that Playtech made her the primary character in their same named real cash slot, Baywatch. Consisting of 5 reels and up to 30 winlines, it’s a rather large slot machine in which you can play a whole heap of exciting features.

There’s a lot to tackle when you punt with this game, so how about we stop beating about the bush and get to all that sexy running, with the wild in our hair…?

      Low Impact

The show may have delivered very high impact viewing to is audience, but Playtech has gone for a much less interesting aesthetic; sure, the staple red and yellow palette is there, but the effort clearly isn’t. This is a low quality slot machine when it comes to the visuals, which surprises us, even given how old the show is.

However, there are obvious redeeming features to be found, such as its interface, with its integrated control panel and rippling waters of the sea behind the translucent reels. These little touches help to keep the spirit of the show alive, but barely so.

      Speeding

The additional wild takes on the form of a speed boat, and with its flashy looks comes an animated feature that helps to step up the ante of this experience. Whenever it leaves dock on the third reel, it jets off across the grid, revealing hidden wilds as it goes, leaving you with plenty of chances to score some money.

Given the age of the game, we think the inclusion of such an immersive extra, no matter how small in variance, is more than enough to put this game back on the slot machine playing map.

      Throw a Lifeline

Sometimes we can get into deep waters, struggling to fight the growing tide, but with the scatter symbol of Baywatch, you never have to worry about such a situation again. At least not when you’re playing on the matrix.

The life rings can appear alone, but they’re most rewarding when at least three of them have come together to form a combination; when that happens, the free games level will get started. We’d like to tell you that babes rush across the screen whenever you make a win, but sadly that doesn’t happen. What does is that you can win up to x100 your initial bet, making this one of the most rewarding rounds we’ve come across to date.

      To the Rescue

Inside the free wins game, you get to use those life rings to rescue people caught out at sea, and in doing so you can win yourself one of three progressive jackpots. That being said, before you start celebrating, you need to save the victims involved a specific number of times during those rounds, which doesn’t leave much room for manoeuvre. For example, the child needs to be rescued up to eight times before you get the jackpot prize – talk about hard work!

As we were playing in demo mode, we were unable to see the totals being offered, but given the requirements for each tier, it goes without saying that the level three jackpot will be the most valuable to you.

      Watch Out!

Baywatch didn’t exceed our expectations, nor did it surprise us with innovation, but it did the job of getting us some decent sized wins. Sometimes that’s all you need to enjoy a slot machine.

If, however, you feel you need something extra, perhaps you should try one of Playtech’s many other slot machine up for grabs, like Battle of the Gods.
