: While there is a growing body of research concerning risk, protective and psycho-social correlates associated with youth gambling and problem gambling, our conceptualisation and measurement of adolescent problem gambling has not evolved to the same extent. This paper highlights our current understanding and measurement of adolescent problem gambling while drawing attention to recent research findings suggesting the need for the refinement of current measures and for the development of a new gold standard instrument. Recommendations and consideration for future directions are provided.related url
